Circle of Evolution

The “Double Abstractions” are abstract shapes of abstract ideas, full of paradoxes and dichotomies. Although twice removed from the meaning, physically they suggest to me something very concrete, the way two negatives equal a positive. I use a language of shapes to communicate infinite and often intangible ideas. The three dimensional forms allow me to get inside the shapes where I understand the questions and become the ideas. Seeing a though through to the end is important – in this case 50 steps for the circle to evolve into the triangle. The path offers one switchback behind the next providing infinite possibilities and endless crossing over. I am in constant danger of being strangled by the language, so being precise and saying exactly what I mean remains a challenge. Each piece has a context within the whole, yet every piece is complete.
